LaCie takes to CES 2019 with a range of external storage solutions aimed at data-hungry customers, including the 2019 Mobile Drive, Mobile SSD and Backup Plus Ultra Touch.
The 2019 version of the Mobile Drive is an external HDD in capacities ranging from 2 to 5TB. It features a USB-C interface, and comes inside a newly designed aluminium enclosure with an "eye-catching diamond-cut" design. The Mobile SSD features a similar design and USB-C interface, only with up to 2TB of faster solid state storage. Both include a 1-month subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, and the LaCie Toolkit software for backup/mirroring purposes.
As the "most advanced intelligent toilet" from the company, the Numi 2.0 is fully voiced controllable, allowing one to not only tell the toilet to flush itself, but also access the full range of Alexa skills. As a result, the user will be able to control their entire smart home from the comfort of a toilet complete with a heated seat, new speakers (allowing one to play music) and dynamic, interactive multi-coloured lighting. No, really.
First announced at Google I/O 2018 before a showing at CES 2019, the JBL Link Bar doubles as an Android TV box and features a built-in Chromecast, providing an array of media sources for customers. A Privacy Switch feature allows one to disable the microphones in case they do not need the virtual assistant, and they can also use Google Assistant while the TV is off.
The Boost Charge line also includes a USB-A to Lightning cable, as well as a USB-A to USB-C option. All cables promise increased durability and strength, and include a leather strap to prevent tangles and help in organisation. The cables come in a black and white speckled design, and are available in 1.2, 1.8 and 3m lengths.
When not in use, the Mothership looks like any oversized laptop. Opening it, however, is a different story. One needs to stand it vertically on a surface to pop out a kickstand, before a foldable wireless keyboard detaches from the device. Thus, the Mothership turns from laptop into a desktop all-in-one PC complete with a 17.3-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution display featuring 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time and Nvidia G-Sync support.
