Bose is the next company to take on augmented reality (AR) wearables, if with a twist-- the Bose AR platform claims to be "the world’s first audio augmented reality platform."
First presented at SXSW 2018, the Bose AR glasses might look like the recently revealed Intel Vaunt, but they do not involve displays or cameras of any kind. Instead the glasses act as a kind of wearable headphone, providing users with "an audible layer of information and experiences."
"Unlike other augmented reality products and platforms, Bose AR doesn't change what you see, but knows what you're looking at-- without an integrated lens or phone camera," the company adds.
