Onkyo announces the TX-NR787-- a 9.2-channel AV receiver able to deliver 9.2-channel audio together with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio and THX Select certification.

Onkyo NR787The TX-NR787 handles multiple speaker configurations, including 5.2.4 and 7.2.2 layouts for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio, and 5.2- and 7.2-channel surround in the the primary zone plus powered stereo speakers in up to to two additional zones. It is rated at 9 x 100W (8 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 0.08% THD, two channels driven).

The AVR offers pass-through support for HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats, as well as BT.2020 colour space, 4:4:4 colour sub-sampling, 24-bit video, 4K/60p video and HDCP 2.2 via x6 rear HDMI inputs. A front HDMI input allows temporary device connections, and a sub HDMI output handles projectors.

Nokia Sells Withings Back

Back in April 2016 Nokia acquired Withings, the French health and wearables company, for €170 million. Fast forward two years and Nokia is now selling the division-- to no other than Withings co-founder Eric Carreel.

Nokia WithingsFinancial details of the deal are not available, but TechCrunch claims both Samsung and Google's Nest "sniffed around" for the company.

The sale comes as Nokia sets to fully exit the CE business, not to mention a fiscal Q3 2017 goodwill writeoff worth $175 million on the Nokia Body division. This came as revenues for the division reached €52m in 2017, a far cry from the €23.2 billion sales posted by the rest of the company..

After months of leaks rumours LG officially launches the G7 ThinQ-- the latest flagship smartphone from the company with a focus on ThinQ AI-powered functionality.

LG G7 The G7 is a 6.1-inch handset with a notch on top of the LCD 3120 x 1440 resolution display housing the front-facing 8MP camera. Inside are a Snapdragon 845 processor, 4/6GB RAM, 64/128GB storage and a 3000mAh battery.  The body is covered in Gorilla Glass 5, is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance and meets the requirements of the MIL-STD 810G US military tests for performance in "harsh environments."

Bang & Olufsen presents a refresh of the Earset wireless in-ear headphones-- one featuring the adjustable design of the previous version, only with a technology update.

EarsetThe Earset earphones keep the same basic design seen in the very first 2004 iteration, with a similar arm, piston and ear hook arrangement. B&O says the design is built with comfort in mind, with the earphone sitting outside the inner ear to allow for a better long-wear experience as well as ambient noise to come through.
