To do so, the Ryg has an "Osci" oscillating frame actuator inside each of the 8 location-specific haptic zones, as powered by the surround card. The Palm brand makes a surprise comeback with a device as odd as it is small-- an "ultra mobile" device acting as a sidekick of sorts to bigger smartphones in order to provide a more minimalist user experience.

Garmin presents a smartwatch aimed at customers with a penchant for outdoor sports of the running and mountain biking variety-- Instinct, a wearable the company claims features military-grade shock and water resistance.

Garmin InstinctThe Instinct complies to the US military standard 810G for thermal, shock and water resistance (up to 100m). A fibre-reinforced polymer shell houses the watch, the band is in silicone and the display is both chemically strengthened and scratch-resistant. Even the battery is tough, since it lasts up to 14 days in smartwatch mode, 16 hours in GPS mode and up to 40 hours in UltraTrack battery saver mode.

Futuresource: 4K TV Heads to the Mainstream

Nearly 50% of TVs shipped worldwide in 2018 are 4K UHD models, Futuresource reports-- meaning the TV format is set to hit the mainstream sooner, not later, reaching 37% global household penetration by 2022.

4K UHD TVTV display purchases drive the 4K UHD segment, and although a content gap still exists, it is quickly being filled up. The amount of 4K UHD content has grown "significantly" during H1 2018, as is the number of broadcasts in the format. For instance, the February Winter Olympics were broadcast in 4K UHD thanks to the Olympic Broadcasting Services and Japanese broadcaster NHK. All FIFA World Cup matches were also shot in 4K UHD, before delivery via satellite, cable, IP and OTT.
