LG sets to marry the traditional wristwatch with the smartwatch to bring about the Watch W7-- a "hybrid" Wear OS device featuring physical watch hands on top of the circular 1.2-inch LCD display.
As the first LG smartwatch since the 2017 Watch Sport and Watch Style, the Watch W7 is the result of a collaboration with Swiss movement maker Soprod SA. As such it truly mimics the traditional wach, with the mechanical hands showing the time as well as information such as altimeter, barometer, timer, stopwatch and compass direction. One can even press a button to make the hands go at the 3:15 position in order to make reading notifications easier.
Despite the watch hands, the display is still touch-capable. The the 44.5mm body is in stainless steel, IP68-rated to resist waters up to 1.5m for 30 minutes, and offers interchangeable straps. The crown has 3 buttons, with two small buttons at the top and bottom users can customise to trigger various shortcuts and a ressable crown in the middle ideal for scrolling through menus and notifications.
