Josh.ai Adds Voice Control to LG TVs

Josh.ai and LG announce a collaboration to integrate voice control into LG TVs, allowing users to ask Josh Micro to turn on desired content on 2018 and 2019 LG OLED, Super UHD and UHD displays.

Josh TVUsing Josh.ai voice-control technology, customers will be able to control LG TVs through natural language-oriented commands, such as "turn the volume up" or "switch inputs to Roku." Compound commands, such as “watch Stranger Things season 2 episode 3, turn up the volume on the TV, draw the shades 40% and dim the lights a little” will also be possible, with all devices assigned to the room the user is in carrying out the actions in question.

Turtle Beach Buys Roccat

Gaming headset vendor Turtle Beach announces the acquisition of a fellow game accessory maker-- Germany-based PC peripheral specialist Roccat, through a deal worth $2.9 billion.

Turtle RockAccording to Turtle Beach, the purchase benefits both companies. After all, Roccat provides Turtle Beach with a more firm position within the PC-centric markets of Europe and Asia, while Turtle Beach will push Roccat products through the N. American channel. Thus the two companies make for an interesting combination, with Roccat offering popular PC peripherals (such as the recently released Kone AIMO gaming mouse) and Turtle Beach claiming over 40% of the console gaming headset market over the past 9 years.

Details Leak on Huawei P30 Smartphones

Huawei promises to fully present the P30 smartphone line later in March 2019, but WinFuture claims to have the full skinny on the two devices, including the full specs and official images.

Huawei P30The P30 comes in 2 flavours, regular and Pro, with the Pro being (obviously) the more high-end option. One reportedly very interesting feature in the P30 Pro is a big rear-facing camera offering no less than 10x zoom, a feature WinFuture say is the result of hybrid zoom. Essentially, the phone uses a periscope system to achieve the equivalent of 7.8x optical zoom. This is combined with data from the camera sensor and software enhancements to bring about the 10x figure.
