A little more than a year ago Sega celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Mega Drive by presenting a "classic edition" of the seminal console. Now the company is ready to reveal more details, including a launch date, for the Mega Drive Mini.
Presented at the Sega Fes 2019 event, the Mega Drive Mini is exactly what it says on the tin-- a miniature version of the 16-bit Mega Drive (aka the Genesis in the US) designed to work with modern TVs. It includes 40 built-in "legendary games," and so far Sega confirms Ecco the Dolphin, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Space Harrier 2, Shining Force, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Machine, ToeJam & Earl, Comix Zone, Sonic the Hedgehog, Altered Beast and Gunstar Heroes.
